How to get from Marrakech (Airport) to Taghazout or Tamraght

If the timings of our direct buses don't work for you then you can also make this journey with public transport. The journey requires three changes of vehicle, but is not too difficult to do!

1: Take a taxi to either the Supratours or CTM bus station - there are many different bus stations in Marrakesh, so make sure you go to the right one!  Supratours buses depart from here and CTM buses depart from here.  Both of these are near the railway station and all taxi drivers will know where to drop you off.  The taxi journey from both the Medina and the Airport should take around ten minutes and should cost less than 100 dirham (€9), but you may have to haggle!

2: Get the bus to Agadir, this trip takes 3 hours and costs €14 per person (you can book tickets here).  I would recommend only using Supratours or CTM, as these are the most reliable companies.  You should aim to arrive at the bus terminal at least 15 minutes before departure, and if you have large bags you will need to buy luggage passes

3: From the Agadir bus terminal it is a 30-minute taxi to Taghazout or Tamraght and should cost 150 dirham (€15), but often the drivers will ask for 200 dirhams or more, so try to negotiate!  A taxi to Anza or Agadir from the bus station should cost around 100 dirhams. If you are on a tight budget, then another option is to catch the L2 bus from the bus station to Place Salam bus stop (4 dirhams) and then catch the L32 or L33 from there to Taghazout / Tamraght (9 dirhams).  However, this is much slower and we really don't recommend this option...!

Total time around 5 hours

Total price for 1 person ~ €35

Total price for 2 people ~ €50

Total price for 3 people ~ €65

Total price for 4 people ~ €80

If you would like a quicker and easier journey you can book a taxi here.  A taxi takes around 3.5 hours and costs €120 for 1-4 people or €140 for up to 6 people

TIP: get cash out in Marrakesh before coming to Taghaout or Tamraght as there are no ATMs in either town and most restaurants and shops don't take card..!

How to get from Taghazout or Tamraght to Marrakech (Airport)

If the timings of our direct buses don't work for you then you can also make this journey with public transport.  The journey requires three changes of vehicle, but is not too difficult to do!

These are the three steps to get to Marrakesh:

1: Take a taxi to the Agadir bus station (located here), this takes about 30 minutes and should cost 150 dirhams (€14) from Taghazout or Tamraght.  Taxi prices in morocco are somewhat 'negotiable', so you may have to haggle to get a good price... definitely do not pay more than 200 dirham for this trip though!  If you are on a tight budget, then another option is to catch the L32 or L33 from Taghazout / Tamraght to Place Salam bus stop (9 dirhams), then catch the L2 bus from there to Agadir bus station (4 dirhams), however, this is much slower and we recommend just using a taxi

2: Take the bus to Marrakesh, this trip takes 3.5 hours and costs €14 per person (book tickets here).  We recommend only using supratours or CTM, as these are the most reliable companies.  You should arrive at the bus terminal at least 15 minutes before departure and if you have bags you will need to buy luggage passes from the ticket desk

3: From either the Supratours or CTM bus terminals it is around a 10-minute taxi to the Medina (where most hotels are located), or about the same to the airport.  Do not pay more than 100 dirhams (€9) for this trip - you will need to use your haggling skills!  If you are staying in the medina you will probably have to walk the final part as most accommodation is not accessible by car
